Yep, I'd like to get together with some other OLFers but I'm not sure there are any that live close to me. Any one close to Wichita Kansas??

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Meeting OLFers for the first time is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. Todd...meeting you and seeing your shop would definitely be a real treat for me.

The magic of The Zootman's Fort Erie OLF-fest last summer was quite an event and one that I'll never forget. I know John Hall was thinking about hosting something similar this summer and if it happens, I'm definitely going.

Dave, I'm in OKC. Not real close, but we are almost neighbors.

Great time it sounds Todd and Terry.

We definitely want some pics if Terry has any.

Believe it or not, there is Talk of an OLF Ark II get together.... more on that later.

I too encourage OLFers to get together wherever they are. Great comraderie.

Dave Rickard, I bet you'd be surprised if you just opened the door how many would show up.

Rector drove the farthest from Okie City. Jimmie got close too from around Memphis. I can't speak for the rest, but it sure was a worthwhile effort.

Come to think of it, I have 42 acres in the Ozark National Forest with probably 7 acres in the clear and electricity and an old house. OLFStock anyone? Maybe Terry would fingerpick a bit? We could hire my brother in law's band for an evening or two. They do great sixties and seventies stuff.

What am I doing in this thread dreaming, I gotta go build some guitars...

Dave Rector, We could meet at
http://www.wvfest.com/
Just for the fun of it we have an all Daves jam. Last year at Winfield we had 23 or 24 Dave's all playing at the same time. Intructions take up more time than playing.

Cool. My banjo builing buddy's son played in the banjo competition this year. Very talented young man. George Orthey (also a local) used to build the autoharps for one of the giveaways. Then my buddy Glenn did the walnut Valley pearl inlay (Not easy to do in spruce!)

I didn't get much in the way of pix at Todd's but as soon as I find my travel drive, I'll double check. I was busy talking and stuff.

Hi to Cathy for me too.

There's a slim chance I may be able to go to Sylvan's, won't know till the last minute.

Todd thats great - its sounds like you both had a blast - its no secret that OLF'ers are kind and generous people that much is evident in almost every thread.
Heres an example,....not only did Todd gift me that sander last week, but he also refused to let me pay for shipping!!! sneaky little sucker!
too kind...... too kind
I have wanted to visit another luthier for a while now - who knows perhaps RodTrue will let me see his shop sometime this summer....or he can vist me if he gets over to the island!
Id love to see some pictures of your guys visit also - hopefully some are available,
Cheers

Dave, I keep meaning to attend the Walnut Valley festival. It just seems like life is always getting in the way. Maybe I can swing it this year.

Awesome! I've chatted with Terry by phone a few times, and borrowed a couple of tapes from him...he's indeed a super guy whom I hope to meet someday soon (THIS side o' the clouds!)...sounds like you had a real treat Todd!

Okay. Found a few pix, but you've seen some of these from him before. I really should've gotten Cathy to take a couple pix with our guitars, or something. Next time round maybe.

Todd's shop is great. I really enjoyed his table saw (jig making) and his lovely plane collection. He also has a bunch of hammers too (pretty fancy ones too)

We enjoyed a very full day, and I am grateful to Todd for investing so much in me. He gave me an extra edge on time by supplying and cutting the binding jig parts. That was only part of it though. Todd REALLY blessed me with a full day of shop time. I'm building a gift guitar for my brother's 50th b-day, and with 3 homeschooled kids under foot, it's hard to get stuff done. So THANK YOU Todd, for helping me get ahead, providing inspiration, fellowship, and "sharpening my edges" Youda man!

BTW- Todd's OO is goreous and sounds beautiful and played in. (I prefer it over over mine) Very warm and vintage looking too. I'm gonna make one like that.

Hey Charlie, you are welcome in my shop any time Bro. You let me know when your coming to the mainland and I'll do my best to make sure I'm around. And I'll be sure to let you know if we're coming over to the island and we can hook up. We don't get over there very much (I've actually only been to Victoria once in the past 26 years I've lived here)

Also, great shop Todd, and cool that you two hooked up. I love it.
